100 Grams

100 grams of sugar that is! That's how much was in the drink I had to drink in under 2 minutes and on an empty stomach. Today was the first time I have felt queasy in months. I had to get my blood drawn before I downed the drink, then at 30 minutes post drink, 1 hour, 2 hours, and 3 hours post. I also saw Dr. Maddox during my many hours at Trinity. I was sad to hear Mac's fast heartbeat (from the sugar). I hope he never has to go through that again. My blood pressure was good (116/66), and she said that I measured (length of uterus) about a week ahead of my due date! So little McCay might come a little sooner, we'll see.

*Special thanks to Jenna...in my honor she also fasted from Tuesday night until lunch on Wednesday. What a good pal!

On another note, we hired a nanny! Yeah!!! Her name is Shannon and she is amazing. It was totally a God thing that we found her. She'll probably start coming to visit sometime in August after he's born for a few hours a week to let me catch up on naps and house work and also to get to know Mac. And then she'll come 2-3 days week in October when I go back to work. We are so thankful!

Just some cute cats

Pepper is in the first two pictures and Tub is in the last two. They were just looking cute as always, and I didn't have anything else to post so here you go.

I go to the Dr. tomorrow for the glucose tolerance test. I think it's going to be a lot of fun ;). As far as I know I go in, get blood drawn, drink an even more sugary drink (let's hope I don't get sick), and then get blood drawn each hour for 3 hours. At some point I'll see my doctor I guess. I've been doing pretty good with not eating a lot of sugar this past week (except for maybe 1 occasion) so I'm hoping to pass this test. I'll update later.

27 week appointment

*Just found out that I failed my glucose challenge test by a few points :(. So I go back next week to do a 3 hour fasting blood sugar test. No more sweets for me (well, I'll just have to be more careful).

This is him with his hand in his mouth.
These are from the ultrasound today. They're dark I know. It was fun to see him moving around. I guess the next time we'll see him is in August (unless there are any problems). The reason for the US was to assess the location of the placenta (which had been low). Thankfully, it has risen up (which is good). I also did the glucose challenge test. I drank a really sugary orange drink and then got my blood drawn after an hour. I'll find out how sweet I am at the next appointment. I will have to start going every 2 weeks now. At 36 weeks, I'll go weekly!

On a totally different subject...Jason Castro better get voted off of American Idol tonight!

6 month belly

We realize we haven't done a good job at documenting the pregnancy (according to several friends). So here is an updated "belly" picture for those who want to see.

Patrick & the real Tubs

Patrick is a happy man here with Coach Tuberville. He's met him a few times, but it's always fun for him to chat with his favorite SEC coach. Tubs drove the pace car in last week's Nascar race at Talladega. I stayed behind at his parent's house in Munford in fear of McCay getting bumped into by some big drunk Nascar fans. Patrick had the time of his life as usual. This was his 4th race in row. Not pictured here is his "loud" green Dale Jr. shirt he bought. After wearing it for 20 minutes and seeing other fans wearing it, he realized that it was not a smart buy. Maybe I can talk him into modeling it for a quick picture later.
