BBQ and Friends

Last Sunday was a BEAUTIFUL day! We went to church and then hung out on the deck all day while the bbq was smoking. Friends came over later and we had a great time hanging out and shooting the breeze. Here are a few pictures.

Nursery progress

So now that we have new carpet, new paint (light grey), new fan, and new blinds, we are ready for our furniture! The crib, dresser, and glider won't come in until about July so now we're just waiting I guess. The last picture is the lamp that Patrick's mom gave us that goes with our bedding. That is what the bedding will look like: Blue and white sheets, blue skirt, and a white bumper with the pinwheels. The furniture is espresso, and the glider is dark beige with "swirls" on the material. I can't wait to get it all in so we can stock up and get ready for Mr. Mac!

To see what the room used to look like, scroll down to the "Goodbye Auburn Room" post.

Hiccups

I do hiccup a lot these days, but this time I'm talking about McCay. I peeked at him again yesterday. The surgeries were almost done for the day so why not? As always I couldn't get a very good picture of him being the amateur that I am, but I definitely saw some arms and legs moving around and the poor thing had hiccups again for a few minutes. I am starting to feel him move around in there, but the way I saw him moving yesterday makes me think I'm in for a ride when he starts getting bigger. I also so a bubble in there, so cool. I just can't wait to meet this little guy. I hope August comes quickly.

The crib and dresser have been ordered for his room. The won't get here until July (bummer) so we'll just have to imagine what it will look like and try to decorate. We'll be ordering the glider soon as well. Patrick is excited about that b/c we're getting one that reclines as well. Man those things are comfortable. I can just imagine many nights rocking the baby and myself back to sleep.

Another Dr. Appointment

I went to see Dr. Maddox again today for my monthly visit. It was a normal visit of blood pressure, urine sample, and finding his heartbeat on the doppler. Nevertheless, it was a good visit b/c his heartbeat sounded strong. As always, it makes me extremely thankful for this precious gift.

The next visit will be a lot more eventful. I'll have another ultrasound to see if my placenta has dropped any lower (lets hope not). Also, I'll be doing the glucose tolerance test to see if I have any diabetic tendencies (lets hope not). They'll give me a sugary drink, I'll wait an hour, and then get blood drawn to see if my body's insulin is doing what it needs to to handle the sugar. Of course I'll update then.

Shaving Tub

We were getting tired of Tub's hair all over the place so we got our neighbor Jess to shave him. It was sad to hold him down but he did pretty well (didn't scratch or bite anyone). We were afraid that he would hate us afterward, but actually he's gotten a little sweeter :). Pepper on the other hand has gotten meaner. She still doesn't realize who Tub is. She growls and hisses at him every time they're in the same room. Here are some before and after pics of Tub. Look how cute he is...

Goodbye Auburn Room

While Patrick is at a baseball game, I have used my free time to start the take down process of the "Auburn Room". Don't worry, we have already discussed this. We have agreed that it is the best room to transform into the nursery. Here are some before pictures. This is the beginning of the transformation. There are holes to patch, walls to paint, furniture to move, new carpet to lay, furniture to buy, etc. Hopefully not too long from now we'll have some amazing after pictures of Mac's room.

5 month belly

Patrick and I went down to Destin for some of Patrick's Spring break. I made a trip to the outlets to buy a bathing suit at Motherhood Maternity before I hit the beach. It felt amazing out by the water (but not in the water, freeeezing). We relaxed, threw the football, and just took in the scenery. Patrick saw several of his Spain Park students, but tried to stay incognito. AJs, Anglers, and The Back Porch fed us well. We also got to eat lunch one day with my Granny, Aunt Nancy, and cousins Lanie and Alison.
