Things I'm Lovin

  • Crystal Light wild strawberry water packs. I must not be the only one that loves these (and the Great Value brand equivalent) b/c a lot of times they are totally out at Walmart. I don't know if it's a mental thing, but I feel like I can get through the morning once I've had a bottle (it's got a little caffeine in it).
  • Pillsbury break and bake chocolate chip cookies. This is nothing new. I've been lovin these for a while, but lately I have been obsessed! I mean, I cannot be left alone in the house with a pack of these people...
  • Tin foil. I don't know why I haven't used more of this until now but I love using it and not dirtying up my cookie sheets. See above item...
  • Paper plates. I used to feel bad using them but we recycle a lot of other stuff so I'm using them baby! Who needs extra plates to wash. I do enough dish washing with all the bottles, Medela pump parts, etc.
  • DeLonghi space heater. I set it to 71 in Sam's room and then put the thermostat on whatever my hormonal body wants!
  • Sam's Club. I just recently rejoined. That's where I got the space heater for a great price and a 48oz can of formula (Similac equivalent) for like $20!
  • HGTV. I have fallen back in love with these shows. There is not a show on this station that I don't love!
  • Parenthood (the show). I can't get enough of it. Why do they torture me and make me wait a week inbetween episodes? So cruel.
  • Sam's soft and warm little head. I can't stop putting it up against my face and kissing it.
  • Pinterest. I tried not to get obsessed with it, but like many many others, I did. I love all the organizational ideas.
  • Showers. I am lucky and do get to get one most nights. I feel like a new woman once I am clean and get my pjs on.
  • My iPhone. I use the "notes" part of it constantly throughout the day to make to do lists, grocery lists, list questions for doctor's appointments (mine and Sam's), jot down when Sam eats, naps, etc. And I can play on facebook and pinterest when he's asleep in my arms :).
What are you lovin??

Samuel James Beverly

A little late on the post but, HE'S HERE!

Sam was born at 7:21am on Jan. 23rd via c section (due date 1/24). He weighed 8lb 11oz and was 20 inches long. He had to spend a brief time in the NICU because his oxygen level was subpar at 85% and he was breathing slightly fast. He was back with us 4 hours later and doing great. My recovery time in the hospital was manageable and I had some FANTASTIC nurses at Saint Vincent's. He had some trouble with increased bilirubin levels and weight loss but after a week at home he was back to normal and gaining weight nicely.

We've been home now for about 3.5 weeks. Sam is such a sweet baby. He spoiled us with a few nights of sleeping 6 hours at a time but now he's back to an every 4 hour eating/sleeping schedule. He's eating 5 ounces of milk/formula at a time! He has dark blue eyes and just a little bit of brown hair. He looks a lot like Mac did minus some hair and chunkiness :). And like Mac, he looks just like Patrick's baby picture.

Granny

Elizabeth Gaultney Etheredge
October 11, 1919 - October 30, 2011

Granny went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning October 30. We are sad to not have her in our lives, but thankful to know that she is with the Lord. Honestly words cannot describe this amazing woman of God and I won't even try. Her obituary is very well written. Please read if you have time.

I have cried tears of joy every time I think about the Lord welcoming her into his kingdom. I also like to think of these two together again.

This was the sunset on the night that Granny died. Mom said she has never seen a prettier sunset.

We are heading down to Fort Walton Beach tonight to attend her services tomorrow. Prayers are appreciated for our family as we grieve together. Nonetheless, it will be a special time for our family to be together.
